Tim Burton inspires my last Halloween picture finder

I love Tim Burton! He is so unique and is never afraid to hide his quirkiness. Every year at the York Daily Record/Sunday News I create some sort of picture finder for Halloween.

This year I wanted to a haunted scene where the monsters were the Trick or treaters. I added Tim Burton's Curly hilltop from his "Nightmare Before Christmas" at the top of my illustration to pay homage to him.

I do draw alot of my artwork on the computer, but the pencil is still a favorite tool of mine.

This is a pencil illustration to go with a story about teen relationships and abuse some girls suffer.

Harry Potter page design and illustration

When the last Harry Potter movie came out I pitched an idea to my news editor about creating 2 separate news page illustration. One page would be the good guys and the other the bad guys. The pages would publish on separate days and the reader could then combine the two pages to create a poster.

Here is the finished two pages side by side.

I hand drew the characters in pencil and then scanned them into Adobe Photoshop. I added color and effects in Photoshop. Once the artwork was finished, I then imported the photoshop file into Adobe Illustrator. This is where I did my page design work adding type and other design elements.

Art nouveau illustration

This is an illustration I did for a Prom package. I love Art Nouveau. One of my favorite artist of that time period was Mucha. Here is my finished illustration.
